About the role

Mercor is seeking experienced Spanish Linguistic Experts to join a cutting-edge AI research project in partnership with a leading research lab. This role centers on evaluating how effectively a large language model (LLM) performs in Spanish-language tasks and on curating high-quality Spanish linguistic data to train and improve the model's understanding and generation capabilities.

Scope of Work

• Evaluate the quality and accuracy of LLM-generated Spanish text across various use cases (e.g., translation, summarization, dialogue, grammar correction).
• Edit, refine, or rewrite Spanish content to meet linguistic and cultural standards.
• Annotate Spanish text for grammatical, syntactic, and semantic features.
• Identify model errors and language gaps, and collaborate with AI researchers to improve LLM performance.
• Provide detailed linguistic feedback and analysis to guide ongoing model training efforts.

What you’ll bring

• Native or near-native fluency in Spanish, with excellent command over grammar, syntax, and stylistics.
• Professional experience in translation, editing, linguistic annotation, or NLP data work in Spanish.
• Strong understanding of linguistic nuances, regional variations, and context-appropriate usage.
• Excellent attention to detail and ability to spot subtle errors or unnatural phrasing.
• Clear communication skills and experience working in distributed, remote teams.

Preferred Qualifications

• Interest in AI and LLM-driven language technologies (preferred but not required).

Contract & Payment Terms

• This is a fully remote role that can be completed on your own schedule.
• Projects can be extended, shortened, or concluded early depending on needs and performance.
• Your work at Mercor will not involve access to confidential or proprietary information from any employer, client, or institution.
• Payments are weekly on Stripe or Wise based on services rendered.
