About the role
Terac is hiring Mechanical Engineering SMEs to help evaluate standard engineering change workflows. This paid project focuses on how complex CAD models are managed and updated within professional automotive and aerospace environments.
You will participate in a remote session to walk through your typical engineering change processes, deliver realistic CAD models using tools like SolidWorks or FreeCAD, document the steps required to implement and approve a design change, and answer questions about friction points in your current workflow.
Your input will help improve tools for managing engineering documentation and version control. This opportunity is for experienced automotive and aerospace engineers, 3D modelers, simulation specialists, and mechanical or industrial designers.
Scope of Work
- Deliver realistic CAD models using SolidWorks, FreeCAD, or similar tools.
- Walk through your standard engineering change workflows.
- Document the steps taken to update and approve design modifications.
- Provide feedback on current challenges in version control and documentation.
What you’ll bring
- Must be 18 or older and fluent in English.
- Must be located in the United States, United Kingdom, Canada, Australia or New Zealand.
- Must have a degree in Mechanical Engineering or a closely related engineering discipline.
- Must have 3 or more years of professional experience in the automotive and/or aerospace industries.
- Must work as an Aerospace Engineer, Automotive Engineer, 3D Modeler / Simulation Specialist, or Mechanical / Industrial Designer.
- Must regularly use CAD software such as SolidWorks, FreeCAD, Fusion 360 / Inventor, or Catia / NX.
- Must have direct experience with engineering change processes (ECR/ECO/ECN), GD&T, PDM/PLM version control, or structured design documentation.
